I saw the Buttholes here in South Oz around this time...91 or 92 at the Old Lion Hotel. We were drinking beer up the back while the support band played, and there a was a bloke crashed out against the wall with his back to us. Was there for ages, totally out. Support act ends. Bloke wakes up, runs past us through crowd ...fuck, was that Gibby?! and disappears backstage. Buttholes come on. Yep, it was Gibby. Played a great show against a screen showing an old army VD film. Those were the days.

Such a great, weird band. Early 80's revolutionaries in post punk especially their first album-" a brown reason... "

I'm trying to imagine how absolutely terrifying it would've been to see Gibby running around with a shotgun. Did he shoot real bullets or blanks? Either way...ballsy.

Probably the strangest band I ever listened to & bought their tapes, vinyl & cd's and sh*t.. ever since the LP 'P.P.A.M.S'.. And I've loved every second of it!! :)

they were satirizing rock groups and doing their own thing. im just saying that bc some of the comments here don't get what's ahppening saying the music is good or what not ... this was an art piece not music, although you can take it as music

I saw this tour at Sandstone. I was laying in the sun, peaking as the Surfers came on. What a day. Ice-T was walking around w/o security. I got a high five off him. Damnit that was a good day.
