Mr Larson is incorrect. Even if any riff on a Bury Your Dead song resembles a Slipknot riff it doesnt make them a ripoff. Slipknot has changed their sound to sound more like the hardcore/metalcore bands that became popular after they were big. They were always a stupid rap metal band with crappy riffs and terrible production. So the best I can say is Slipknot ripped off bands like Bury your Dead with their later stuff and BYD just so happened to write a riff like they always write and Slipknot has something similar. Slipknot will always be overrated. The guys in BYD have said in interviews that they are heavily influenced by Sevendust, and its obvious(especially with the Myke era).

Listen to the song "Psychosocial" by Slipknot and then revise your comment. The main riff is a total ripoff of slipknot.
