well for me it all sounds too different from other metal styles, so i call it djent music not djent metal. listen to ForTiorI (IMO the best djent musician) and u will realize what im talking about. its too heavy to be progressive metal. and its too progressive to be any other metal style.11 years ago

Djent isn't a genre. It's a style of metal that comes from the sound a guitarist makes when he plays in a certain palm muted style. The word Djent is onomatopoeia for this sound. It's like most "Djent" bands are either Progressive Metal or Metalcore/Deathcore bands who use the style of playing and typically use 7/8 string guitars. It's like Periphery, Volumes, Structures and Reflections are completely different genres of metal played in a different style.11 years ago
