I think he is an amazing singer and musician or should I say pianist but I can't help but wonder if Freddie Mercury, how much more intense it could possibly be. I wish they would have met, to do such a thing together. Still I'll take the song here: truly beautiful song.

Truly a great popular singer. Surprised he has not sung it for so long. Where has he been?

Given that Burton on his Up Close & Alone live album released in 2002 performs Stand Tall - I'm thinking the statement that he hasn't performed it in 25 years is well - false!!!!! I also remember him performing it on his Plus Signs tour which was videotaped by MuchMusic in Vancouver at the Queen Elizabeth Theater in 1990. Why would you neglect a great song like that for 25 years.Murf

This song got me through the year of 1977 after my mother bought me the 45 record, I was seven years old, and just lost my first Pet Dog that we had since 1960 that was brought over as a puppy from England with a women from there that came to Savannah Georgia to open up Save a Life. The first group to help save strays. Honey was my best friend and first Dog a Airedale Terrier, and she got ill that winter and passed. The first time me and my twin sister had experienced grief. I sat at her grave every day and the song STAND TALL came out and I had to have the record. It helped me through that year. Honey was 17 and since I began to walk as a toddler, that dog guarded me and my twin everywhere we went. She made sure we crossed a busy rode and looked out for us two. Most loving dog I ever had. Now when I hear the song, I remember Honey and smile, and know I will see that girl at the Rainbow Bridge when I cross over. The music then was the greatest. I am now 45 years old and time just flew on by, and I look back at all of the wonderful childhood memories, listening to my mom's 45 records, riding in her 69 Camaro rag top, listening also to her eight tract. The clothes, the hair, the day's when I could play outside and not worry. The roller skating, riding bikes, and cheer leading. Miss those days.

This Burtan Cumming is the greatest musician of our time. He is better at everything musically than anybody. Why do the Rock and Roll hall of fame induct him? So many schlock artists have been inducted. Also give Mark Knopfler onto this hall of fame.

Wow i can't believe Burton hasn't sang this song in over 25yrs? I wonder why? It's such a classic song, usually artists don't perform non hit songs ya know in years & years. But this is such a classic. I'm so glad Burton Cummings & The Guess Who are Canadian. Just like so many other classic Canadian musicians like Neil Young,BTO,Gordon Lightfoot,Tragically Hip,54-40,Big Sugar,Big Wreck,Thornley,Sloan,Steppin Wolf,Helix,Anvil,Etc.The list is so long.
