These guys are a great band...highly under rated in my opinion. I've seen a lot of washed-up, has-been bands from the 80s in recent years and many did NOT hold up. I saw Bullet Boys (aka Marq Torien and 3 other guys) a couple years ago and they sounded great.

I think Za Za was an under rated album. Came out right when the grunge started.

Speaking of looking past genre...did you see the stuff that Willie Nelson has done with...hello!...Snoop Dogg? It is actually really good. It doesn't seem like it should work but they did a few great songs together.

Honestly Tony, I think a true music fan looks way past genre...to appreciate each person's talent, and to notice how the artist might have been inspired...and maybe even to get inspiration for themselves in an unlikely place. I love all kind of music. So rockers learn from crooners, who learn from rappers, who learn from wailers and screamers and the yodelers and the yelpers. It is all so beautiful given half the chance to be!

I am a rocker also Lethia. But Sam Cooke is one of my alltime favorites! Jeff Scott Soto has listed Sam too as his favorite!

I hear that too Tony R. I don't know if any after him escaped his influence, if you want to know the truth. All the crooners, all the soul singers, all the gospel...even the rockers loved him. Rod Stewart has listed Sam Cooke as one of his 3 primary influences (Otis Redding and Muddy Waters being the other two), and has covered many of his songs. And James Taylor does a Sam cover every now and then too.

If you are a fan from way back (Smooth Up In Ya and such)...then you may not realize this song is copyrighted 2006. So it is a more recent release. I didn't hear about anything so recent either. Just saw. It is a nice song, don't you think? I don't know what I think of the vid.

I think it works, but only because that singer can really sing. I always thought BB looked the part of a typical 80's hair band, but they were way ahead of most in regard to talent. I have not kept up with them so this song is a surprise but I am really glad they are still working.
