.10 gauge strings will handle drop C just fine, i wouldnt suggest tuning 9s down that low

dude tuning down doesn't break your guitar strings,unless they are rusted or are in bad condition

He doesn't say it is in Drop C but he mentions that it is in standard D tuning with the low D tuned down to a C. Btw, the intro picking pattern is wrong and the 10-12 10-12 pattern is played as a hammer-on (1:14) :/ other than that though it looks pretty accurate.
