IMHO, this cover is far and away better than the original ever was based purely on the emotional response invoked by the artist. Sure, the original was a wonderful song and conjured up many fine memories of my childhood. Happy, bouncy, upbeat - it harkens to the carefree days of my youth hanging out with my friends by the river in the late summer sun. But in my adolescence, I never delved deeply into the lyrics or their true meanings...11 years ago
