A very classy, highly original and perhaps somewhat pretentious album, "Adventures In Modern Recording" by Buggles still sounds wonderful today. No wonder with people like Trevor Horn, Gary Langan, Julian Mendelsohn and Geoff Downes on board. And I thought this was just such a striking single, it has a wonderful atmosphere and great drum machine programming :)

Written by Geoff Downes and Trevor Horn. (C) 1982 Carrere.

Someone on another upload of this has pointed out that it's about Leonardo Da Vinci. I wouldn't have thought of that myself!

@rkt739 Thanks! It appears my turntable is a little bit too slow, so this upload is not 100 % correct.

The version on the CD re-release runs 3:14. Hope that helps! ;)

Thanks for that. The good news is: I like the song in all versions :)

Right, I've done some research and it seems the correct version is 3:12, and this is 3:20, and mine was 3:07! Oh bother.

Ah, strangely, I just found out that my turntable has been running too fast! Maybe we will never know......

It is a tad slower than the other version on Youtube. I don't have a knob for adjusting the speed so if it is too slow, my turntable is not working properly. As I don't have the cd version, I can't compare.

Oh dear! Sounds like your turntable needs re-calibrating!
