Years ago I researched all the greats to find out once and for all who really WAS the greatest of all time. Babe Ruth wasn't just an icon. He still is the best to this day. His statistics are there for all to see. The record for homeruns before he showed up was 27. When Babe Ruth came around he hit 60. No wonder people thought he was a "god". His 1921 season will never be rivaled: .378 batting average, 204 hits, 59 homers, 177 runs, 171 RBI. I would have paid anything to watch the Babe play.

What an enjoyable video! I love the rare footage from his younger, athletic days. Sadly we mostly remember his later, beergut days since that's when most of the existing footage was taken of him.
