ozzy is just fucking great, i dont know how people can get bored of the dark deep vocals he had its just amazing, they might not be heavy but just like how they other guy was saying his vocals complement the music, that deep doom sound, ozzy was perfect for it

Ozzy's vocals are more about feeding off Iommis riffs. Listen to the album master of reality. Ozzys vice perfectly complements Iommis riffs. Isnt heavy metal more defined by guitar than vocals anyway? Iommi is certainly a metal guitarist.

Yeah I've listen to all sabbath. In fact I own all of their albums. He is getting heavier in that but still everything he sings he sounds like the same singer. He is really great in that album actually my favorite. I could consider that metal but it's 75 by that time not really that impressive (heaviness wise) when look at how many heavy bands were out by then. Still a great singer just not heavy like the others (to me that is).

Ive listened to spooky tooth. Checked em out caus of the Judas Priest cover.Have you ever listened to the album Sabotage? Ozzy is definitely not monotone on that album.

I doubt you had even listened or even have listened to any of the bands I mentioned. And I am almost positive you haven't with Spooky Tooth and Blue Cheer.

Dan McCafferty Sold My Soul(1972/73) Ballad Of Hollis Brown 73 and tons more. You moron. Plus way heavier stuff. Doom doesn't mean heavy you can be hard rock and be doomy gloomy. God your a moron.

Dude you didnt create metal so you dont get to decide what is and isnt metal. And since when do any of the vocalist you named give a sense of doom? Maybe Ian gillian when he joined Sabbath in the 80s.

Ozzy was not metal in black sabbath and that's all there is to it. There is no arguing about that. The vocalists I mentioned are the first metal vocalists!!! He could be classified as metal after sabbath, but not in it.

That's not to say I don't like him as I do but he's not metal as far as I'm concerned and shouldn't be to anyone else except maybe his later 80's 90's work. It's still fairly monotone in those years as well. No insult to him though.

I consider Black Sabbath's instrumental heavy but not metal. And certainly ozzy's vocals are not metal. The first metal vocalists as far as I'm concerned are Ian Gillian, Burke Shelley, John Lawton, David Byron and most importantly Dan (The Man) McCafferty. Ozzy sings in a very monotone voice and it does not give me a sense of complete dispair or anything that sounds completely heavy.

Those bands are pre-metal. Black Sabbath's guitar tone was much sludgier and heavier plus the overall sound of their music was considerably more macabre. Listen to Children of the grave and Symptom of the universe.

Yeah but sabbath didn't create a new genre it was already created by blue cheer, The Who, and Spooky Tooth.

They didnt steal they took influence from them. Thats how genres are naturally made by taking from an adding to.

Thats fucking stupid. What about Spooky Tooth sabbath stole so much stuff from them. Atomic Rooster, Nazareth, Blue Cheer, The Who with (The Ox 1965), Lucifer's Friend, Uriah Heep.
