I'm only a young fella and I can't get enough of the old blokes. They match today's country music artists without a drama!

CONT'D - Tony was brought on stage to the delight of the locals and he did well. He was called back to remain there during the later part of the show. During the farewell item, Buddy Williams took his hat off and placed it on Tony's head. Older times and some fond memories there.

Way back when, two young performers toured W.A. with Buddy Williams. Warren Durden and Tommy Emmanuel. A feature of the nights was a spot for local talent to try their hand. One such was Tony Hughes of Onslow. Tony with blessed with the gift of music but also had cerebral palsy. He was a Buddy Williams fan and covered several of his songs when performing to family and friends.

Don't you miss them all - I know I do - reminds me of a much simpler time.

The one song I would love to hear, though, is Sunny Australian Sweetheart ... my grandfather sang that to my mother, and to me, when we were both little, and now Mum is singing it to my 3 and a half year old nephew

Mum always tells a story of how she and Dad took me to a Buddy Williams concert and I apparently went up and showed him my dress (I was VERY young) and he told me (from the stage) how pretty it was (embarrassed chuckle) ... but I grew up with Buddy and Slim and still enjoy listening to them :)

I don't mind anything that shows Dad in his true light. No poor footage please, he doesn't deserve that. Anyone who has good footage is greatly appreciated because Dad didn't ever bother with anything himself.......guess it was to do with his opinion of him. He had a wonderful talent that he always doubted paradoxically he knew he was different...
