Richard Pryor and Redd Foxx always "put down" their race in the recordings, TV shows and movies, yet, they were certainly regarded by peers as VERY bright, not ignorant. Like it or not, comics today of ALL races still emulate Pryor's/Foxx work.

(Though now politically incorrect) I think this is Buddy's best, FUNNIEST work!!!!

"If you enjoy this you are putting down an entire race" People who say these things are absolute psychopaths. "people were ignorant back then and didn't know better" Funny how SAT's decline in this politically correct future.

It's individuals like you who suck all the fun out of life. I wish PC Stormtroopers like yourself would move to Antartica.

i have heard this routine several times and it always makes me laugh this is a prime example of why you dont need foul language to make people laugh people like red skeleton and andy griffith and buddy hackett are such great comedians in there time

It's jsut funny. It's called humour. Why does everyone have to ruin things by throwing a suffocating layer of PC crap all over it? Would we make this today? Of course not! But listening to it and laughing, doesn't make you a racist. For cryin out loud, lighten up!

Wow, Nobody was putting down any race in this video or song, This was Buddy Hackett back in the 50's . I Happen to Luv Buddy's humor, I have since I was about 7 years old, im 55 now. Buddy has been a comedian ever since I can remember. All these Neg comments should be deleted . I wonder what kind of comments would be thrown at Ting Me A Tong ? I Loved that song when I was a kid and was looking for it. Thats how I ended up here commenting on this. Please post Ting Me A Tong , Let Me Know. TY.

@boogaludo I do agree. It's not so much about putting down the Chinese. I you listen to it you don't hear racial slurs about them, but rather it's is just saying that there is a new change in style and music and all that. That is all.

@gussie716 ....I think this one is not about putting down an entire race. It's about the same old conflicts about a new generation wearing strange clothes and listenening to strange music. What is now your excuse to be so ignorant not understanding what this song is about? Here in Germany there is a phrase used for people lacking on humor: "If you have to laugh you will go down in the basement."

hey lady with the 9 year old......maybe this got a pass in the 50's and 60's but won't fly today. If you enjoy this you are putting down an entire race. I think you had better sit that little 9 year old down and explain that people were ignorant back then and didn't know better. What is your excuse?
