Having had the honor of working for Buck at one of his country radio stations......this song was a top 10 hit in about 1960-61....Altogether Buck had 25 #1 records from all music charts and another 26 Top Ten hit records between 1959 and 1988...! Quite a record for any recording artist.....

It just kills me when someone says, pretty boy in cowboy hat (today"s country, if you can call it that) just passed Buck, or George, or Merle, in all time sales. You take away the internet and all the ease of exposure today, and put these clowns on old AM radio, and they would be lucky to sell a fraction of what the true greats sold. And why, because the Nashville formula now is geared to no talent pop star wanna be's who they label as country. Give me Buck, George, or Merle any day. This is real , this is "country".

Fuck..the epitome of country juke box selections. 2 step dancing couldn't exist with out this feel. Wonderful...simply wonderful! Not to mention the recording itself. Exquisite example of the state of the art recording at the time. Make's todays recordings sound like idiocy.

Great song.....Buck would "over-dub" his voice on most of the early recording. So, he is actually singing with himself on the harmony parts. Later Don Rich would sing perfect harmony with "the Chief" (as he would call him)
