heard this coming from work the other day - made me FEEL Bruce like I hadn't in a while (with so much choice in music, it's easy to take the greats for granted, and sometimes i need to have my true appreciation restored)...also, one of the greatest songs ever written by another genius (Carole King)...she and Gerry Goffin have much to be proud of, and Carole King alone even moreso. a really touching, deceptively simple song about the most universal of subjects.

The piano intro is the same as "Backstreets".

I saw him eighteen times between '73 and '75, always at small venues. Indescribably great.

@Hister333 Don't want to make you hate me even more but I saw him three times in 1975, in March at DAR Constitution Hall (11th row), the Carter Baron show referred to above in July, and at the old McDonough Arena (17th row) in December. Then I saw him three more time in 1976, four times in 1978, four times in 1980...stopped keeping track after that.

@highball58 Sorry, I have a policy of hating anybody who saw Bruce live in '75. God, you caught the man between his "too many lyrics period," and his "let's let Jon Landau ruin all my records" period. It must've been magic.

Does anyone else catch the girl at the end of the song say "Bruce I love you" and Bruce is like "Woahhhhh"....classic stuff

I saw Bruce do this in 1975 at the Carter Baron Amphitheatre in D.C., an open-air venue, on a beautiful summer night. He sat down on the edge of the stage and sang it from there. I've never forgotten it. Thanks for helping me relive the moment.

@ShadowWanderer1 I'm glad this song could make you feel better! I love it, too! As far as I know this song was only performed during the BTR tour - a total of 6 times...but soundwise this is the best version - in my opinion....
