This is a beautiful performance of one of Bruce's greatest songs. Technically, this was also Clarence's final living performance with Bruce and the E Street Band. For the record (literally!), it was quite a coup for Bruce steal David Lindley from Jackson Browne for this particular performance in Asbury Park. The promise is never broken when spoken by Bruce, and he is still one of the few rock stars who didn't "take it all and throw it all away."
