I realy regret that I did not see him in the seventies.....at the smaller venues. THAT sure must have been pure magic. But I am glad that at least I get to see him nowadays....The shows I've seen this summer were amazing.....And yes - you got that right - he IS the greatest living American Rock performer!!!

I saw several shows between 1977 and 1981. They were magic. There was a frantic energy. His 1980 St. Paul concert is still the bar by which I measure every show I've seen since. His shows today are great, but a little of the magic is gone. In the late 70's and early 80's (pre BITUSA), he was kind of like a secret. Now, everyone knows. It was so great to see him at smaller and midsize venues. Still, he is the greatest living American Rock performer.
