You are correct. This song was written for a previous girlfriend. I think she was a photographer. It's in the biography that came out last year, which is thorough but not terribly well written.

I think the person who uploaded this (1974 track) meant that for Bruce, Patti is "The One" (for him). Yeah, a little misleading, tho' probably unintentional. GREAT song! I am truly happy for them both. It certainly makes it easier to stay faithful in a marriage when you asre on the road with the person you want to be "sleeping with". Can't wait to see them at MetLife Stadium on Friday night of their stop!

I might be wrong but this sounds like the original version which came out 1974, and Patti joined the E Street band in 1984. So unless she was featuring this song she does not sing here...

Eh, I guess you're right, I probably shouldn't have mentioned that. It was to answer the "they're meant for each other" comments; but you're right, shouldn't have mentioned that. I love Bruce, despite the fact that I don't agree his politics. Though I'm not sure if being on the "extreme Right" has anything to do with it. Rachel Maddow and Keith Olbermann are about as obnoxious as Limbaugh and Beck. Wooow there, a little pedantic, huh? Okay then, enjoy your wonderful woman :-)

Unless you name your sources so we can interview them & examine their evidence, you're no better than the people who treated as fact, the now proven false accusation of infidelity in a recent divorce filing.
