I laugh because it's a Cajun song. Hell, it's often called the Cajun national anthem. Here, he's singing in English, and with with a fraction of the feeling of the farmers and trappers who have been singing it for over 100 years. By the way the spelling "Jole Blon" may be fine in English but in French, the language in which it was originally written, and in which it should be sung, it's spelled Jolie Blonde.

Since you wrote this 4 years ago I'll give you the benefit of the doubt and assume that by now you know how the song is actually spelled. More importantly, I laugh when I think of anyone singing any song better than Bruce, with more passion, heart or soul. OK, maybe opera arias are the one exception, though if he put his mind to it I'm sure he'd outdo most people even at those.

And what a show in Tampa with the BOSS playing for 3 hours...He loved those kids and gave them a memory they will never forget. Bruce your AWESOME and the kids loved you. Thanks Bruce!!

I can see your point. I didn't care for the Bear, or the discoed up Dancing in the Dark. The Dancing in the Dark vid, a bit corny, & contrived for my liking also, BUT, remember this was the MTV era, where every artist was making cheesy videos. He resisted almost 3 years before putting out a vid, and that was Atlantic City, & he wasn't even in it. He believed that the listeners imagination would be lost with the advent of videos....thats NOT selling out. We all succumb to technology eventually.

ortleyman: You couldn't be more wrong. Bruce didn't sell out w/ BITUSA , nor did he lose fans, let alone "alot" of them. Blame the media, if you will, but Bruce can't be blamed for the rest of the world FINALLY noticing his GREATNESS. In fact he blasted Reagan for mentioning the title song in one of his campaign speeches. It always kills me when ppl call someone a "sell out" 'cause they got to be bigger than life. Maybe you should explain your definition of "sell out", & get some FACTS on fans.

Love this song and Bruce singing it!! Born in the USA isn't my favorite album either but give No Surrender and Bobby Jean a listen, excellent songs.
