@joedodge1 I wasn't around at the time so I can't say if Dave Marsh was right or not. He wrote that most Bruce fans would not be racist in their daily lives' but that they were shocked that Bruce was playing with a black 'soul' band! The overwhelming feeling from that time is that the band were just dreadful, that MTV Unplugged DVD is woeful excluding the performances of Lucky Town, If I Should Fall Behind, My Beautiful Reward and The Big Muddy. I've watched it once since I bought it.

@Eeza07 It was certainly his worst period creatively without The E Street Band, he never produced a outstanding album in the 90's, Human Touch is just awful excluding the title track but Lucky Town is underrated.
