Six months spent on this song alone according to the "Wings for Wheels" doc.

All those strings and backup vocals ... so typical of 1970s rock overproduction. Glad they were scaled back for the final master.

One of the worst sound recordings! But, who cares, it became a hit!No, I feel the strings and chorus were later added, but never used. Found the multi-tracks, but still difficult to squeeze out decent stereo! Thanks!

Actually this is the ORIGINAL version of the song.It sounds different that what you know from your past because there are parts that are heard on this version that are not on the original version and there are parts on the original version that are not on this one.If you look at the "Making of Born To Run" video and you listen to the cassette tape section where Bruce and the other guy are isolating certain sounds you'll understand. In the COMPLETE version of this song there were about 25 different parts. On the RELEASED version there are only about 12.

Well, I'm not about to argue with that. For me, it might be a bit too much... And dosent really fit the view that I have of it. :)

i feel like the choir is good, it's just that we don't like it cuz it's not what we're used to. if this was the first time either of us heard the song, we would probably say: "i like the choir. it's cool and adds a lot to the song."
