Really loved this and his great follow up KEEP ON at the time they were out. They certainly DONT make them like this anymore ( Mores the pity.) instead of the banal talentless dross we are served up now.And just a little word of thanks Mr Gary Owens for reminding us of Mr Delbert McLinton,s part in showing Mr John Lennon how to play in his style. Thanks to Mr Jay Preston Swafford for bringing this point up.

Most older people know this story but here goes...while on tour in England Bruce & Delbert McClinton got to know a then unknown band on the show called the Beatles.John loved Delbert's harmonica on "Hey Baby" and asked him to show him how to play like that.....and John went on to use harmonica with many songs, most notably"Love Me Do" and "Please Please Me."

Delbert McClinton is playing the harmonica part on this tune...that's the reason you were directed to Bruce "Hey Baby" Chanel

I remembered this song while I was dreaming and had to look it up. I love now as much as I did back then. Yes , the 60s had some revolutionary music and it was beautiful to be part of the changing tide of music. I miss the talent that was present then and into the seventies. Those were days when we wore out the 45s listening tho the same songs over and over and over.

I had this 45rpm back in the 60s (seems like early 60s) and listened to it a million times. No one seemed to know the song but me. Funny that, now 50 years later it is popular with high school bands and everybody seems to know the song. Great production and one that will last forever. Thanks for this post. Was there not a group called the Channels? If so, was it led by Bruce?
