Here's what I think, but then again I've been living on my own since I was 12 years old. If someone is being foreclosed on, and evicted from their HOME, I have NOOOO sympathy! They know for MONTHS they aren't paying their bills. It is easy to figure this one out. THOSE ADULTS put their CHILDREN in HARM's WAY by NOT taking care of business. If you cannot afford to own a home, phucking SELL IT. Go live BELOW your means, not ABOVE our means. It is simple. I have done it ALL my life and I raised three (adopted) children on MY OWN too, back in the day when pay was low and work was as difficult to find as you seem to think it is 'today' (in the 70s). If you can't find a job during a recession in your line of work, GO CLEAN HOUSES for a while. Go sweep out a store, TAKE IN A LODGER. I did it ALL. I took in my BFF's 3 children when she and her hubby died in an accident. I took in another single mom and her kid. We downsized. We turned off cable tv, stopped eating out, turned out lights in a room when we left it, took on two jobs each. All four of the kids are grown, married, have their own houses, paid off, because I taught them that too. If you don't like your life situation, GET OUT THERE AND CHANGE it. It IS up to YOU. Stop living above your means, and start living BELOW your means (so that you can SAVE money for the future). Teach your kids how to make money mowing laws, babysitting, cleaning out garages, picking fruit. Grow your own vegetables, in pots on a narrow balcony if that is all you have. Go visit senior citizens and sick children in hospitals, there is such a thing as good karma. But wailing about your fate, when you've had months to change it, does not earn a DROP of sympathy from me, but SCORN for the ADULTS who put themselves AND their kids into that situation.
