@jenna0857 that's not what the song's about.It's about Chris Martin's unrequinted love.The word yellow was inspired by the colour of the stars, but it was more directly taken from the Yellow Pages telephone directory.

@jenna0857 As noble as that sounds, the song was conceived from the band and their producer looking at the stars one night ("Look at the stars..."). This made Chris Martin come up with the basic chords. They developed it, created lyrics, and then the yellow part was added cause Martin just happened to have a Yellow Pages next to him XD

I don't get it. When people refers " this is so much better than the Original artist", does that mean the original version is bad?? Different artist interpretation of a cover version is sometimes great, but it can never beat the original. After all, didn't we felt in love with the original versions first, before covers were made?
