Hosea is a prophetic book wherein Gomer represents Israel. ALSO, Israel in the Old Testament and in the Redemption Plan of God is a type of the church: the Body of Christ. Ofcourse its about the church :) At that time, Israel was the "church" or God and the chosen nation for the Lord but in the New Testament, Christ makes it clear numerous times that he did not only come for the Jews but for the Gentiles and that we now make up the new church of God. Therefore, this does apply to the church, as Christ constantly mentions that He is our bridegroom and we are His bride.11 years ago

@liznajarro This song IS about the book of Hosea, but not about the Church. Hosea is a prophetic book, Gomer represents Israel and how unfaithful the Jewish culture was to God. And YES, even though she WAS continually unfaithful (Israel/Gomer) He still forgave and would take her back (GOD/Hosea). It's a story about a marriage.
