Collecting Brook Benton records since 1065 ? - 12 months before the battle of Hastings. Was Brook Benton even born then ? That`s a collection that i`d like to see ! There must be some truth in it though , as the contributer below, [timswift2] remarks that Brook was - "light years ahead of his time." Respect !

Velvety lead, beautiful ethereal backing vocals, and just perfect accompaniment.

I first heard him (not surprisingly, his given name wasn't Brook Benton) through "Midnight Train To Georgia," from the 70s. I also love the production on this, and I do think not many others did "soft" like he did. The video was made for Tammy and David, but it fit this song too.

Oh my!! This is so nice. Close and personal, a dreamy embrace. Hi-fidelity, stereo heaven. Embarrassed it's taken me 3 years to find this gem chez-scrummy.

wow, I didnt know this existed. I think I was born in the wrong generation. In those days, even a cover version had soul, class and originality. The closest thing my generation has that can come to this (aside from the bass in the voice) is Prince. Prince would bow to this.
