Man is it nice to see at least one of my favorite bands stick with that true rock and roll sound and not try to be too experimental. Nothing against trying new sounds, but sometimes staying true to your roots is just a breath of fresh air in a world currently dominated by electronic sounds and beat samplers.

Just listening to this while cooking (not that that mattered), and when the last note had faded somehow automatically the lines "don't write me no more letters, my mailbox is full of bombs" popped up in my head. I'm sadly not much of a musician (none at all actually), but the ending reminded me very much of "The Spirit of Jazz". And "We did it..." would then continue "Forget me not" 's story, which would give the first quite a tragic twist. This song, for me, could so easily fit into American Slang. But basically it is universal in Brian Fallon's œuvre. Here, it's all in there. I'm babbling again. NVM. Music is so powerful.Edit: is totally not like I said the American Slang thing a couple of weeks ago already...

I swear this guy can't do any wrong, I honestly love all his stuff (be it TGA or his solo songs). He's simply the best singer/songwriter I know.

Stacy, I'd like to take you to a movieIn a world without a death wishOn a night under the fireworks in heavenOh but StacyBaby, you can take me anywhereBecause I get a lot of low downsSo just put me in the cold ground and visitOh, but what ifWhat if my soul was still trembling?Oh would you put your black dress on and visit my bones? And bring my football top and a scarf for the coldPlaying melancholy songs that somehow made us(Feel a whole lot better)Well, I waited on the kingdom come and the trumpet blowIn the cold, hard ground there's some letters you wroteWould I get any rest from the wreck that I was with the living?Or would you just go on?Stacy, I never thought I'd miss the small talkI never knew the gift the day wasI just used to hear the time clockWhistle stopSleep and get back up againStacy, I never thought I'd miss the hard loveI wish I took the time to miss youWhile we were sitting only right there under heavenOh, but what ifWhat if my soul was still trembling? And would you put your black dress on and visit my bones? And bring my football top and a scarf for the coldPlaying melancholy songs that somehow made us(Feel a whole lot better)Well, I waited on the kingdom come and the trumpet blowIn the cold, hard ground there's some letters you wroteWould I get any rest from the wreck that I was with the living?Or would you just go on?Could you promise me something if you find someone? That you'll forget me notNever feel too muchEven if they do all the things that I couldn't do for youAnd I'll promise you something if I find someoneThat I'll forget you notNever feel too muchEven if they do all the things that I couldn't do for youOh, but what ifWhat if your soul was still trembling? And I would put my black suit on and visit your bonesAnd bring a football top and a play that you wroteAnd an English song by a band that you loveHere comes the sun, little darlingAnd the kingdom come and the trumpet blowIn the cold, hard ground there's some letters you wroteWould you get any rest from the wreck that I was with the living?Or would you just go on?Would you put your black dress on and visit my bones? And bring my football top and a scarf for the cold (please forget me not)Playing melancholy songs that somehow made usFeel a whole lot better (would you just go on?)Well, I waited on the kingdom come and the trumpet blowIn the cold, hard ground there's some letters you wrote (oh please forget me not)Would I get any rest from the wreck that I was with the living?
