Up On a Hill, As the Day Dissolves

With My Pencil Turning Moments Into Line

High Above in the Violet Sky

A Silent Silver Plane - It Draws a

Golden Chain

One By One, All the Stars Appear

As the Great Winds of the Planet Spiral In

Spinning Away, Like the Night Sky At Arles

In the Million Insect Storm, the

Constellations Form

On a Hill, Under a Raven Sky

I Have no Idea Exactly What I've

Drawn

Some Kind of Change, Some Kind of

Spinning Away

With Every Single Line Moving Further

Out in Time

And Now As the Pale Moon Rides

(In the Stars)

Her Form in My Pale Blue Lines

(In the Stars)

And There, As the World Rolls Round

(In the Stars)

I Draw, But the Lines Move Round

(In the Stars)

There, As the Great Wheels Blaze

(In the Stars)

I Draw, But My Drawing Fades

(In the Stars)

And Now, As the Old Sun Dies

(In the Stars)

I Draw, and the Four Winds Sigh

(In the Stars)

One of the most beautiful works of art our species has produced.

I never dance but when I listen to this song I find by the end I'm moving in a kind of disjointed African half-assed swoop. Also, I'm crying at the same time. Because it's such a beautiful song.

Chill, listen to this and smoke some herb and ponder all the wonders of the Universe!

I discovered the Wrong Way Up album a few years ago and was knocked out by it. Probably Brian and John's closest attempt at commercial music, not to be repeated unfortunately. I shared the album with my son and brothers, and they were equally taken by the music. Spinning Away is my favorite on the album. Thanks for sharing.

Brian Eno is so ambient, everyone forgets his marvellous songs!

I found myself humming the beginning of this as night fell this evening after a sunny afternoon and the stars began to twinkle in a clear, crisp, black night sky.The words are beautiful.

It's a superb Enophoto for a great track (but where's Cale?) The biggest mistake which Eno made IMHO (even more than joining the Liberal Democrats) was ceasing to sing on his own work. But that was a gap of 13 years and this track is 24 years old!I love the idea of him suddenly bursting into song on the video!

It's not I am Eno and I am an Egg. It is I am Eno and I AM EGG.

I loved this song when it first came out, loved it every time I've heard it since, and love it no less today. Unlike me, it never gets old.

What if the motionless disembodied head of Eno turned to us at 3:14 and started singing?
