I went outside and just screamed these lyrics, I saw breaking benjamin just recently in Dallas and BB is so healing...Just recently I asked a 'friend' if I could adopt their cat, their grandmother said "sure we don't want the cat and were going to dump it anyway".So I took it in, it was ABUSED, skinny, covered in mange, burn marks, etc.I healed him, nursed him back to health...And suddenly they hit me up saying they were going to BEAT ME UP, they called me a 'bitch' and a 'dumbass' and they threatened to kill MY ANIMALS I already own if I didn't give the cat back.So I take the cat to their house..I politely tell them I had no idea, and that they really 100% honestly gave me permission but they were high or drunk and didn't mean it.So then I went to their housethat was the most painful thing...I literally was singing 'somewhere over the rainbow' and 'everything is gonna be alright by bob marley' and 'remember by harry nelson' ‘god’ and ‘imagine by John Lennon’.... and crying... I was singing trying to keep happy energy for the cat and to calm myselfand when I went in there, with TEARS streaming down my face. I was barely able to keep a tune I was SOBBING, the cat was cradled in my arms in a blanket so scared...So I go in the house, and they are all there the whole entire family....not a sign of empathythey just came up and said 'oh the cat's back. shut up cat' when it meowedtook it from meno empathyno carenothingnot even a thank youI've never been around so many people so coldI just drove around town blasting rock music and screaming it out and crying... Breaking Benjamin knows, Ben knows so well how heartless and COLD people are....There was nothing in their eyesnot even a sign of thankfulness for the catand here I am, streaming tears, saying "I am so sorry for the confusion, ma'am'"not even my 'friend', who was there, did anythingshe just smoked a cig and sat there.she didn't even...hug me...or say thank you...it was all so cold, emotionless, no empathy, no feelings....cold...dead eyes...How can someone be so heartless, they watch a little girl crying to a cat sick with leukemia - trying with all her heart to make them feel better, and despite crying and singing 'somewhere over the rainbow' to the cat who is probably going to die soon. Choking up on her tears, saying 'yes ma'am' and 'no ma'am being polite....And look at the little girl, and not care.How can you be SO COLD, so HEARTLESS, so SOULLESS? I can't believe people like you even exist....I have removed this family from my life. I want nothing to do with soulless people or that familyTHANK YOU Breaking Benjamin, Ben has been through so much shit but his music helps me so much...Three Days Grace is coming too, and they are good at getting that EMOTION out...I'll be there at that concert...This song and 'Had Enough' fit sooo much right now.I'm sorry for sharing my story. This just happened and it was....Cold. So, so very cold.
