I was slow to listen to this because I didn't like her previous album. At all. The previous ones, though? Works of art. This song, though, I LOVE. I will buy the album now. For sure. I will always have a great place in my heart for Brandi Carlile. My wife and I had been huge fans of hers. We saw her at the House of Blues in Boston in 2010. My wife forgot her ID at the hotel and they almost didn't let her in.Then, we decided to base our honeymoon on her touring. We got married in the fall of 2011 and she was touring and she was due to perform in upstate New York... about 4½ hours from home. We stayed at the hotel Kate Pierson (the redhead from B-52s) owned in the Catskills. We were the only ones staying there. Wicked creepy to stay in a completely empty hotel that wasn't staffed most of the time.We drove 2 hours down awful backroads (post Hurricane Irene, so lots of streets were washed out) to see her perform with the Avett Brothers at a brewery. It downpoured during the whole outdoor concert. I got absolutely blasted. Nobody could make it out of the downhill, mudded cornfield they called a parking lot. Me and a bunch of guys decided we would push EVERYONE out of the parking lot because nobody could make it up. My wife got pissed I wouldn't leave, but I was having too much fun acting like I could push shit. I lost my favorite shirt somewhere. My wife was almost eaten by a stray, possibly rabid, pitbull when she stopped to pee on a blackened side road in the middle of nowhere at 1 AM. It attacked the car as she got inside. Our rental car had scratches on it from the dog and smelled like an old aquarium from the humidity and mud I provided inside. I'll never know how we got our deposit back. I steam cleaned it twice and it was still terrible. I tried to buff out the scratches, but they were mad deep. It was a great time. We still talk about it. Thanks Brandi!!!
