The painting on the cover was done by James S. Avati for the paperback novel 'Down All your Streets' by Leonard Bishop (Signet Books D1009, 1953).

Boulevard of Broken Dreams, (watercolor on cardboard, 1984), a Gottfried Helnwein reinterpretation of the Edward Hopper painting Nighthawks, featuring Marilyn Monroe, Humphrey Bogart, James Dean, and Elvis Presley in place of Hopper's more anonymous characters.

Generally, "The Boulevard of Broken Dreams" refers to Sunset Boulevard, due to its historically having both the primary location for live entertainment in the Los Angeles, California metropolitan region and a red-light district.

My partner Johanna Spanjerberg has sung with this orchestra for two years. Later she has sung with the Glenn Miller Orchestra. At the moment she sings more jazzy songs. Just look for "Hanna Rose"

What a thrill to hear this magnificent and misty-eyed arrangement of this forgotten Orchestra 'Boulevard of Broken Dreams. All three albums are great!Perry Boot

I was there in 1983 when this orchestra played, it was on the 'Boulevard of Broken Dreams' at the Museumplein in Amsterdam. Still get the chills when I hear this terrific sound and feel again the exiting atmosphere inside this big round almost dark tent with its mirrors on the walls, called the 'Spiegeltent' and on other evenings when a band played; 'Het Danspaleis'

This act was the soundtrack of a radioshow in Berlin/Germany in the late 80ies and early 90ies. The show was called "Bettgeflüster" (Pillow Talk) It was aired 6 times a week right after midnight and was about interactive sex talk. Twice a week they presented bed stories (erotic literature)...

@HomingFury You're welcome! I own the CD for a long time, in fact all they made. This is most definitely my favourite too. Coming home after a perfect nice warm sunny day, grabbing something to drink and playing this.. is magic.
