From her third album "Takin' My Time" first released in 1973 and later released as a cd in 1990. Bonnie has said this is her favorite album to listen to which says a lot! "Everybody's Cryin' Mercy" is shown here. Per the composer, Mose Allison, "Bonnie Raitt was the first one to do it, way before anyone else. She's a good friend of mine, and I opened shows for her at that time." Look at the back up musicians...Lowell George, Taj Mahal, & Jim Keltner to name just a few. How could this miss? Enjoy!

HELL YEAH! SUBSCRIBED. I'm old, started out at age 12 with Art Blakey, never looked back. Seen Mose age with me over the decades since the 60's, dunno how many times I sipped my whisky feet from the piano. Met Bonnie in BossTown/Cambridge before her 1st album. Thanks, because this is essential stuff. There should be a law, by Mose, because Mose Knows.

First saw Mose live in Minneapolis, must have been 1968, at the Tyrone Guthrie theater, but I wouldn't have known enough to go see him at all were it not for my then brother-in-law who used to see Mose all the time in Vegas, where Jim was working back in '62 as a blackjack dealer. Most people still don't know about Mose. You have to know somebody who's hip, and you could get hip, yourself, strictly by accident after digging Mose. Dig Bonnie digging Mose. How hip is she, baby? Thanks for posting... I worked at the Gaslight Cafe back in 1969 when Bonnie and so many others played there (me, too, once in awhile...) Lord, those were the days! Music everywhere! Loved it and thanks for bringing back the good memories from the good old days! Great music and great song and great singer. Go Bonnie!

You are correct. I find that often the most commercial are often not on my very top list of favorites...but with Bonnie, I love them all. Thank you for commenting and listening. I appreciate it very much, Moppet (Barbara)

Other albums of hers have been more popular and have sold countless more copies- ALL are phenomenal! But this one is a masterpiece.

@yvonneandhoagie2 Wow. If I keep getting info on this song, I can sure have a better description! Thank you so much. I didn't know who the composer was and looked him up. I was shocked to see he had been opening for Bonnie. He let her do the first cover of his song. I would not have known that if you hadn't made your comment. I appreciate any input, comments, and corrections I get. Again, Thanks! My very best. Moppet

@incognito1951 I can see why Bonnie likes this album so much. Thanks for letting me know about Watts playing sax. I just go by what I find or my liner notes. I appreciate any help I get when my info is incorrect. I think I could use your knowledge when I have a jazz question! Thanks so much and please jump in again if you find anything in the future which needs changed. My very best to you, Moppet p.s. I changed the info. Thanks.

Instr. and musician list incorrect ! Ernie Watts plays sax, not trumpet.
