Boney M - Rivers of Babylon 1978

By the rivers of Babylon,

there we sat down

ye-eah we wept,

when we remembered Zion.

By the rivers of Babylon,

there we sat down

ye-eah we wept,

when we remembered Zion.

When the wicked

Carried us away in captivity

Required from us a song

Now how shall we sing the lord's song

in a strange land

When the wicked

Carried us away in captivity

Requiering of us a song

Now how shall we sing the lord's song

in a strange land

(Instrumental)

Yeah Yeah Yeah

Let the words of our mouth

and the meditations of our hearts

be acceptable in thy sight

here tonight

Let the words of our mouth

and the meditation of our hearts

be acceptable in thy sight

here tonight

By the rivers of Babylon,

there we sat down

ye-eah we wept,

when we remembered Zion.

(Instrumental)

By the rivers of Babylon,

there we sat down

ye-eah we wept,

when we remembered Zion.

By the rivers of Babylon,

there we sat down

ye-eah we wept,

when we remembered Zion.

By the rivers of Babylon,

there we sat down

ye-eah we

Logic Reason Evidence

This is a sung version of the bible's Psalms 137 but they've missed out the most important part! The 9th verse at the very end 1 By the rivers of Babylon, (SEE END...)1 By the rivers of Babylon, there we sat down, yea, we wept, when we remembered Zion.2 We hanged our harps upon the willows in the midst thereof.3 For there they that carried us away captive required of us a song; and they that wasted us required of us mirth, saying,Sing us one of the songs of Zion.4 How shall we sing the LORD's song in a strange land?5 If I forget thee, O Jerusalem, let my right hand forget her cunning.6 If I do not remember thee, let my tongue cleave to the roof of my mouth;if I prefer not Jerusalem above my chief joy.7 Remember, O LORD, the children of Edom in the day of Jerusalem;who said, Rase it, rase it,even to the foundation thereof.8 O daughter of Babylon, who art to be destroyed; happy shall he be, that rewardeth thee as thou hast served us. Rev. 18.69 HAPPY SHALL HE BE, THAT TAKETH & DASHETHTHY LITTLE ONES AGAINST STONES.- Nice huh? Recommending infanticide by cracking babies heads open on rocks!!! For some strange reason Boney M decided to edit out the punch line. I wonder why?

600 b.C. Israel people were taken to Babylon (Iran today) after losing the war with Nabucodonosor. And were used as slaves, among other things forced to sing.

I sometimes wonder if I'm dead, having survived multiple medical mishaps that all supposed medical textbooks claim should be fatal, ditto Kathy. Yet even as an avatar (as we're known) I'm human in that I can laugh and cry real tears. So, disco ain't everyone's cup of tea, nor is Gospel, but I just love this stuff. Also The Emotions and Eternal of course who do the same. Wouldn't it be nice just to switch on a mainstream radio station and have some classic soul, especially European as well as American, black, white, whatever... :)
