Fine singer, and this is a great lyric. Imagine growing up knowing your mama wrote 'Heartbreak Hotel' (Mae Axton) ... that must have been cool! When the kids acted up I wonder if she used to say 'I'm going to get out the belt and check you in to Heartbreak Hotel'?! Probably not.

Hoyt was a practitioner of medical marijuana long before it was even heard of. When he was dying of cancer in our small local hospital the whole place reeked of it much to the distress of the nurses. Soon as they walked away he would light up again. He died a happy man.

Love this song and does it ever take me back. The WKRP epidsode with Hoyt Axton was on a couple of days ago and did it even make me want to hear his music again.

When I was a kid, scrubbing my baby brother's dirty diapers in the toilet, I would sing this song......Work your fingers to the bone. What do you get? Boney Fingers.....forty years later and I'm still singing that song....
