Look at it this way, many bands have covered Thin Lizzy - many well respected musicians, serious guitarists and the like have coverd Lizzy, but how many well respected musicians and dedicated guitarists have done serious Bon Jovi covers? Aside from 25 year old, has been hair bands on their last legs on Bon Jovi tribute albums and bar bands. When serious musicians like Satriani, Vai, Yngwie or whoever get up and jam on stage, if they were presented with a choice, do you think they would cover Living on a Prayer or some obscure Lizzy song? Eddie Van Halen hated Bon Jovi for being so fake.That says it all! To me, Jon Bon Jovi was always into it for the money first and putting out genuine real rock and roll was a secondary consideration.
