You complain about how he sounds. This band toured about 300 days of the year back then. Also, when you preform in stadiums the sound can be distorted and he's entertaining the hell out of the crowd. Its also windy. Could thet have anything to do with the sound? this is 1985. If you have the vocal tools that they have now, every night you would sound amazing also. sometimes they have a rough night

This was the first Farm Aid and most people hadn't really heard from these guys yet. I know this because I was there about 15 rows out. There was never another Farm Aid like this first one! The talent on that stage for that 12 hour show was staggering! It was also the first time Eddy Van Halen and Sammy Hagar jammed. I'll never forget Sammy starting off one of his songs by saying "here's one for you tractor pulling motherfuckers". That sure got the country folk stirred up!
