Justins face at 4:56 is just pure magic, he's so into the music! What a fantastic live performance, this is top drawer stuff.

Watching this (and this isn't even their best performance) it becomes quickly clear that this band are just cut from a different cloth.

Both quietly intense and touching. Justin Vernon probably not only read Robert Frost, he absorbed him.

Respect to big sean, I've heard his music, and i don't know him, but... I wonder after such a mesmerizing and atmospheric performance as that, when he got his shout out from jimmy, was he sitting there in the revelatory realization that he just isn't anywhere near that talented at all? Maybe just a little? lol jimmy gets utterly blown away by the performance, then when the camera cut to him, it was almost like now that you've heard this amazing masterpiece (Ahem!) big sean everybody! And big sean is just sitting there grinning like yeahhhhhh heh heh... (fuck, where do I hide) lol

I've probably listnened to this song 100 times, played it at gigs at least ten times and I've recorded 5+ own versions of it with different instrumentations and mindsets. But I end up never being satisfied with my takes on it because Justin and Bon Iver's two takes (live and album are quite different) are just so incredibly good. Been working on getting a live one-take style recording of it with my band with just singing, guitar obstinato and a grand piano but I think I'm just going to put that recording on a hard drive and never publish it because I'll just compare it to the originals. Dammit, I love this song!

Letterman is leaving behind a rich tradition of musical guests and theres open territory for guys like Fallon and Kimmel to step into & keep great and sometimes under-appreciated live acts on late night TV.

its pretty hard for bands to be legendary and actually change music nowadays the way they have in the past, but bon iver/justin and songs like these are some of the most unique stuff I have seen and listened to in my life.. he's awesome :)
