Released on the 1963 album, "Greatest Hits Of The Golden Groups". Kind of a strange album for this song to be included on since it was a '50's hit for Bobby Helms, not a group. The Vogues evenually had a hit with a remake but that wasn't until years after this album was recorded. So, I guess you could say this album predicted that a group would have a hit with the song years before they did! Bobby re-recorded this song in the '80's and that version seems easier to find than this one.

Bobby Vinton and his Band played at my Junior Prom in 1962. The Prom was held at the old Pittsburgh Hilton and the Classes of 1962 and 1963 (mine) thrilled to be dancing to his music. It wasn't much longer that he made it really big and we could not have him back for our Senior Prom, Munhall (PA) Class of 1963. Oh well, we have the 1962 memories!!!10 years ago

In 1968 or there about I bought a single that had a recording of Bobby Vinton´s "My Special Angel" and on the flip side Bobby Goldsboro's "Honey". José Carlos a friend of mine at the time borrowed it and never gave it back. He said it was to remember me, that he was keeping it. I wonder if he still has it ? This while living in Montreal, Canada! I always loved Bobby Vinton's version this one in particular!Related Videos
