Released on the 1961 album, "Hits Of The Rockin' '50's". This is a folk song which dates back to the seventeenth century. Burl Ives had a hit with it in 1949 when it was included in a Disney film called "So Dear To My Heart". Sammy Turner had a hit with it in 1959. Written by Traditional, Eliot Daniel & Larry Morey.

My dad and I have always danced to Lavender Blue since before I could even walk. I'm now 30 and we still dance to it if we're at his house and it comes on my daughter's CDs. We even danced to it at my wedding. Love you Daddy!
