Fraulein spent an entire YEAR on the Country charts [52 weeks] from its debut on March 30, 1957, and stayed at # 1 for four weeks. It also made it to # 36 Billboard Top 100. Not bad for a song that was clearly Country in every respect.

I remember when I first heard this masterpiece on the car radio. I was so distracted by it's compelling heartfelt plaintiveness that I almost ran the car off the road. What a classic!!. Incidentally,if any of you fellow enthusiasts are interested, you might like to listen to Bobby Helms sequel, "Lonely River Rhine". I reckon it's just as good.

What a classic, great voice, and tempo just right for dancing. The guys down at the Legion like it too.

Fraulein by Bobby Helms was the top favorite song in Singapore for a long period of time in the early fifties on Top Tunes Of The Week. My favorite song by Bobby Helms.
