The BF4 was one of the greatest bands in any decade of rock. I agree that 'The Magic Touch' was not a great choice and, like you say, they had much better songs...such as this one! Or 'Take My Word', 'Fool of Love'. The stuff that Bobby wrote was superior to just about any other material they recorded. This is a rare non-Bobby Fuller song that is excellent. And of course their Buddy Holly covers are great songs.

Even though "I fought the law" was a massive hit, I think BF4 was the most underrated band of the 60's. They were only around a short while, but I think with them the good songs outnumber the bad songs. "the magic touch" was meant to be the next big follow up single to "I fought the law" but it failed to sell. The truth is BF4 had waay better songs than that. I think it was just poor management that caused this band to not be more successful as it certainly wasn't a lack of talent.
