Bobby Bland recorded "I Pity The Fool" in 1961 for Duke Records. The legendary "Lion Of The Blues" was inducted into the Rock'n'Roll Hall of Fame in 1992 and received the Grammy Lifetime Achievement Award in 1997.
David Bowie covered the song under the name The Manish Boys in 1965 with a young Jimmy Page on lead guitar and it was released as his second single.
A Tennessee native, the highly respected and much loved "Lion Of The Blues" passed away on 23rd June 2013 at his home in Germantown.
