No video, just sound.

Lyrics:

"There must be some way out of here" said the joker to the thief

"There's too much confusion", I can't get no relief

Businessmen, they drink my wine, plowmen dig my earth

None of them along the line know what any of it is worth.

"No reason to get excited", the thief he kindly spoke

"There are many here among us who feel that life is but a joke

But you and I, we've been through that, and this is not our fate

So let us not talk falsely now, the hour is getting late".

All along the watchtower, princes kept the view

While all the women came and went, barefoot servants, too.

Outside in the distance a wildcat did growl

Two riders were approaching, the wind began to howl.

A local performer, and very good guitarist himself, came up with his own version, which started like Dylan, and ended like Hendrix. He got a standing ovation. Those who can, should. No argument from me.

I like Jimi's version, I like his guitar and singing better in it. But Dylan is a pure lyrical genius.

without this version, no one would ever have heard the other versions. You can sign you're name on a Picasso, but it's still a Picasso.

I love both versions, but usually my mood on the day/moment determines which one is better. I will say I am in the Dylan mood most of the time. It is like a cruiser whilst the Hendrix version is like a hypercar.

My favorite Mason.......33 degrees of thought wound in the fabric of time itself..... let the stars shine and the darkness fade away...

Both are amazing songs but the whole point in it being handed over to Jimi was because it was made for Jimi.....songs are passed between artists all the time mostly due to the fact the intended person it was meant for didn't have the sound/presence to make that song what it was....many don't know Dylan wrote it and not many would recognise it if it wasn't for hendrix....imho hendrix puts soul and depth into the song which I believe ultimately makes it better
