Apparently I can't reply so Wizard4169 the thing about most Americans not listening music in other languages is true with most older people, the younger generations such as mine, I'm 18, and my friends and I listen to many foreign types of music such as: Japanese, German, Norwegian, Finnish, etc. And those bands are in their original language. My parents who on the other hand are in their late 30's and they cant understand why I like music in languages even if I can't understand what there saying I like the way it sounds.

Actually it was Constance Rudert who had her voice warped in this song, not Ulrike Goldmann, and Constance always sucked at singing anyway. She just has a horrible voice and no talent either, and the warping is kind of embarrassing whenever I hear it.

At the beginning of this comment chain, I just wanted to state my opinion and nothing else. Then I had to deal with more than one moron who could not seem to discern that an opinion was all it was. I feel my frustration was justified.

Ease up, friend. (And I'm sincere about the "friend" part, even if I am, at least theoretically, old enough to be your father.) I still say the motivation is at least partly commercial. Non-English speakers are a lot more willing to listen to English lyrics than English-speakers are to listen to non-English lyrics. Whether this is good or bad I'll leave up to your judgment, but it's definitely a fact. Doesn't matter how artistic you are, you still have to eat.

I was not questioning his poetic intent of his lyrics, merely the execution. Also, who the hell are you to call me a child? I am 24 years of age and have proven to be well spoken and articulate with my responses. You will address me like the adult I am.

Did it ever occur to you children that these lyrics are likely meaningful to him?

Nachtblut is also a great band!

It's either that or he's simply not a very good lyricist to begin with. Project Pitchfork writes songs in both English and German and their lyrics are of far better quality.

True; Sabaton songs do tend to sound like history lessons which just happen to be delivered in the form of high-energy metal. To be honest, my German isn't nearly good enough to pick up more than the basics, so I'll freely admit I may be missing the finer points of lyrics in the original Deutsche. But English is something of an international language. It's hard to blame bands for trying to pick up more listeners. If they can do decent music in the process, I say more power to 'em.
