When things go wrongand there's no one run to hearI look at youstar of blueand my troubles disappearBlue star, when I am blueAll I do is look at youFor I seem to find peace of mindAnd I never get lonelyWhen you shine from afarWith you way up thereI don't dare to have a careFor I want to show that your glowLets me know that you knowThat I'm not blue, blue starWith you way up thereI don't dare to have a careFor I want to show that your glowLets me know that you knowThat I'm not blue, blue star

No one sang a song like Linda! She had that clear-as-a-bell quality in her voice.

Was the instrumental version of Blue Star the theme from "Medic" in the 1950's. If not, was it possibly the theme from another tv show around the same time? Can anyone help with the answer? Thanks. BTY I love Linda's version.

I remember this song not only by the Shadows and the Ventures, but by my own band, The Vibratones, (1961-1966). What memories this brings back. Some are best forgotten. They make me feel blue!

1. "..and there's no one 'ROUND to hear" 2. "..I don't dare to have A CARE..." nice video presentation though.

My search for "Blue Star" , written by Edward Heyman & Victor Young, and sung by JAN PEERCE (cIrca 1967) , has ended. Simple words, great music, and sung by a great tenor.

Not to belabor the issue of the lyrics, but if you are going to make corrections, there are several in addition to the "a care" vs. "affair" already mentioned. In the intro, "run" should be "around". Later, "When you shine from ABOVE" should be "... AFAR". Then, "With you away OUT there" should be "... UP there". Finally, "LET me know" should be "LETS me know".

@bangfarang He he Must be the slant of the hillside that keeps your memory working. You are not being rude to Scuzzy, nobody can be that! I will spare you the good things the United States has done and agree with you that present day "music" sucks! You'll have to forgive my memory about the Dr. Kildare fiasco as I was but a wee little child when Medic was on the TV. Great song though and Linda Scott does a fine job of singing it. Cheers!

I don't wish to be rude, scuzzy, but I am living on a hillside in the Far East and wondering if anyone back home has sufficient memory to maintain ANY of the culture that is now being submerged by the crap that I fear may come to represent the United States to the world and even to history. "Blue Star" was used as the theme for MEDIC, starring Richard Boone, who—and I hope this makes my dyspepsia tolerable—was Pat Boone's cousin.

If you don't want to be scratching more. Don't force my hand. I just don't want you belittling my name. OK? does your lame brain understand now? --..) OK. just a teaser for you: The father of my father is addressed as: Senor Don Joaquin those days.

I don't understand you're plastering my name all over YT. Para bang naka-SUBTRACT ka sa angkan namin. Why not google a name *Cristine Villagonzalo* . Dahil no read no write ako, siya na lang ang tumbahin mol. POST doctoral lang naman sa Physics ang narating niya.Isn't that nice to know that I belong to the same blood-lines? In fact, she's as small and dark-skinned as my mother who got married to the son of some Big Shot of the largest town of Cebu in :1930. I'm proud of my roots. How about you?
