Outsideinside bonus track

Lyrics:

I had to try the Gypsy

I wanna have my fortune told

She said, "what kind of love for

I would surely sell my soul.

Your girl, she is gone

Your best friend just left town

And your standin' in the middle

Turn around."

Well I ain't superstitious

My boots' in my bag

My heat she has left me

And ain't never coming back.

That's alright with me

I don't wanna see you no more

I got no good news woman

That's for sure.

Gypsy, Gypsy tell me

Now what I have in store

Well, will I be a rich man

Or will I make it be poor?

She said, "Son you're a mighty young man

But there's a lot you don't understand

The fate of every man

Is in his own hands."

Actually this song is the B side from a 1969 non Lp single: All Night Long/Fortune.. From the Blue Cheer (fourth LP) line-up that featured Bruce Stephens!! I have the White Label Promo version!

This is definitely NOT on this disk.

Otoh, it could also be from *after* the Outsideinside sessions proper, perhaps some kind of transition to the New! Improved! lineup? Perhaps a canceled interim single? Or a demo with the new lineup? Whatever it is, just sonically speaking it sounds more late 1968 than '66 or '67 to me. Just a thought.

they could have done a cover. It sounds like their music

spacepatrolman .

@notfragile33 They should have put a straight version of satisfaction on it before they slowed down the tape in the begining

@spacepatrolman Well that's obvious! Just like a song from 1966 or 67 wouldn't sound like a song from 1968!

@notfragile33 I see what you mean. I'm not sure man.

@notfragile33 It doesnt sound like it belongs on the album

@realityfrominsanity Well, I've seen bonus tracks on albums by artists before that were from three years earlier, and just thrown on the album to fill space, so I thought this was one of those. It sounds very dated, anyway--I mean, more dated than 1968! The guitar sounds "tinnier"

@notfragile33 I think this song just didn't make it on the album

Was this prior to 1967, when they were still a 6-piece? Sounds like Paul Revere and The Raiders..
