the lyrical content is matched. the process is different. blu grew up musically and lyrically, most of his public couldn't keep up with the change of sound and lyricism. most of my favorite blu songs ain't from below the heavens, even though that's my favorite album ever. take shit like amnesia,just another day,hold on john, 'till we die or even jesus or a man as examples. they're all great tracks but none sounds alike, some think noyork is classic blu shit, i thought it sucked, it's subjective,

Personally I couldn't care less about the authentic feel.. the lo-fi releases are really disappointing to me, if I wanted it to sound like it's played on an old boombox I'll play it on one nahmean.. but I can definitely see how you can prefer his more out of the box stuff over a traditional setup.. the lyrical content of BTH is unmatched tho, that's why it's one of my favorite albums..
