Barren Cross is the Christian Iron Maiden dude! Bloodgood's cool too in their own way though....

i was introduced to bloodgood by my youth pastor when i was in desperate need of different music as a troubled kid. thank God for them.

Maiden has three lead guitarists who are capable of playing extremely fast using pinched harmonics and such, and they have a vocalist that is probably the best ever. But Bloodgood is still really, really good.

In the words of so many abbots of the past, "Contemplate your death often..."

This band was one of my favorites from 80s Christian metal... They were (in my own humble opinion) much heavier than Styper (one of my other favs) and better sounding than Messiah Prophet (also very much one of my favs).. Lyrically they were absolutely the best at the time.... Still enjoy hearing their music... Remember trying to learn the solos as a 14-16 year old...

Amen to FRQ1972. God used this band to help me thru some dark days in 1986. Always remember its God and not the band.

wow frq1972! that's a great testimony for a band like bloodgood... maybe you should send an email them. i bet it's a blessing to know they have had an impact like that! for me i was a fan of stryper and was looking for other christian bands. i used to be full of fear the song "alone in suicide" made me afraid.and i took the record back to the shop, now i am a big fan. i really think they are a blessing!
