The audience and the people dancing in the back are mostly from bands on the scene at the time. Blondie asked them to show up for the video shoot.

Thanks 65Rowan...a very interesting history. I dig Suzi Quatro (Leather Tuscadaro) and Joan Jett too.

No not at all this is the one and only Debbie Harry. Blondie were performing for over a year before Cheri joined the group The Runaways. Joan Jett has stated Debbie taught the Runaways to put makeup on when Debbie come to LA to do some gigs in 1975. Cheri seems to of took a bit of Debs inspiration and maybe Suzi Quatro as they are all together in some photos taken around that time when doing gigs. Debbie took the Runaways under her wing for a while as the whole of Blondie did being a bit older.

This video was shot later in the day, after they shot 'dreaming'..... hence the similar look of the two videos. The audience here may not seem enthusiastic because it was a long shoot. Imagine a band running thru a song over and over (no matter how great it is) with 5 to 10 minute breaks in-between, and you'll get it. Plus we were all teenagers ..... for the most part!

Facinating personal level american history. You should blog up a historical recount of the event. It would be interesting to experience it through the personal historical recount. I had seen what appeared to be familiar faces in the peanuts gallery from another video in a blue motif. But, I had not seen that particular costumery before.

I actually was at the filming of this video back at S.I.R. studios in midtown back in 79. I was on the right side of the stage. They ran thru it a few times, contemplated doing a short set for us afterward, but decided against it. But I did get autographs from everyone....which I still have today! Cool times!
