I hate to burst you guy's bubble but Blink 182 is not punk rock. It's punk inspired pop music. I'm sure most of you are too young to know this but punk is not a sound, it's an approach. Before everybody accuses me of hating on these guys, I like them. I think they're a cool band. I have no problem with them they just aren't punk rock.

They definately used a (guitar) backing track for the rock show. Tom was playing an open A string palm muted at 0:25 which just can't sound that perfect... and you can also hear the synthesiser at 2:19 which you only hear in the studio versions.
