Okay. So, just to clarify for people who don't know, there really is one reason for all of Tom's shortcomings having to due with most of his recent performances. His back. Years ago, he injured a disk in his back from being too hyperactive while playing the guitar on stage. Due to this, his doctor informed him to not jump around so much anymore. This is why he may look "bored." His doctor also put Tom on painkillers, which Tom became addicted to. He took so many that it eventually began to destroy his vocal cords. Around the same time, he was starting Angels & Airwaves. While working on this, his damaged voice solidified. Making it permanent. This is why he no longer sings as well as he used to. However, I personally think that over time, Tom's voice has been getting better. Either that or it's just kind of starting to grow on me. But, if you look at performances from around 2011 to now, you can tell he's getting better. It's probably never going to sound like it did before, but I imagine that, in time, It will get better. Thanks for listening.

I personally think they sound amazing. You have to remember the studio version was recorded when they were much younger so of course they are going to sound different.
